New! 2022 Montaña Dorada Chardonnay

As we step into a new season, we’re thrilled to release the new vintage of our Montaña Dorada Vineyards Chardonnay, a true representation of the stellar vineyard sites of the Sonoma Coast appellation.

For this small 2022 bottling of just 186 cases, the majority of the Chardonnay grapes were grown in the highly sought-after Arnoud Vineyard farmed by acclaimed grower Charlie Chenowth. The remaining fruit is from the Sangiacomo family’s Green Acres Hill Vineyard, farmed by a 4th-generation grape-growing family.

Montaña Dorada translates to golden mountain exemplifying the hillside vineyards of the Sonoma Coast. The mornings on these sites are cool and foggy while the afternoons are almost always sunny.

The 2022 vintage was cool and consistent, leading to Chardonnay with balanced and bright acidity and elegant minerality.

This wine is delightful year-round, but as the evenings grow cooler, its layered aromatics, balanced structure, golden hue, brightness, and refreshing acidity perfectly embrace the new season.

Today we are pleased to officially release the long-awaited new vintage of our Montaña Dorada Vineyards Chardonnay.

2022 Montaña Dorada Chardonnay

This wine bursts with aromas of white stone fruit, lychee, key lime, pear, and honeysuckle. The palate builds with weight and salinity that is creamy yet bright and refreshing. Notes of lemon curd and fresh lemon lead to a finish of limestone, ocean salt, and coriander. This wine is balanced, mouth-coating, and elegant.

“The 2022 Montaña Dorada Vineyards Chardonnay skips out with vivacious notions of juicy pineapple, fresh apricots, and guava leading to wafts of baking bread, toasted almonds, and allspice. The full-bodied palate is coated with impactful tropical and stone fruit layers supported by a racy line and creamy texture, finishing with a compelling lift.– 95 Points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent
