Sequoia Grove Winery, Napa, California

Earth Day is here, and at Sequoia Grove Winery, we’re proud to say that sustainability has always been a top priority. We believe that producing great wine and protecting the environment go hand in hand, which is why we take a holistic approach to winemaking that incorporates
eco-friendly practices at every stage of the process.

Sustainable farming practices

Our vineyards are certified by the Napa Green Land program, which means we follow sustainable farming practices that protect our land, air, and water. This includes using cover crops to improve soil health, conserving water through drip irrigation, and minimizing pesticide and herbicide use. We use ET (evapotranspiration) sensors throughout our estate vineyards to give us the exact amount of water the plant uses.  We also have two drip lines in each block, one for the main system and another for any weak spots or replants. This enables us to water portions of the blocks separately.

Napa Green – Caring for Nature Elevates Quality & Experience

Energy-efficient winery

Our winery is designed to be energy-efficient, and to further our commitment to sustainability, Sequoia Grove Winery is 100% powered by renewable energy through the Deep Green program with Marin Clean Energy. Being a certified Green Business is an important step forward in our drive for sustainability and quality at Sequoia Grove. We are committed to taking action to conserve resources and prevent pollution, and we’re proud to be 100% powered by renewable energy.

Recycling and waste reduction

We’re committed to reducing waste and recycling whenever possible. At harvest, our compost gets trucked to a field in Sebastopol, composted, mixed with organic cow manure, and sent back to us for use.

Supporting local conservation efforts

We believe in supporting the local community and working together to protect the environment. That’s why we’ve partnered with 1% of the Planet and Save the Redwoods League. For us, the coastal redwood tree is more than just our brand icon; it’s a symbol of persistence, fortitude, and interconnectedness. These magnificent trees represent a true sense of place along a narrow strip of the California coast, just like our Vineyard Series wines.

Our Green Efforts Have Led to Annual Gains For Our Environment

Actions Taken Are Equivalent To

At Sequoia Grove Winery, we believe that sustainability and environmental stewardship are essential to producing great wine and protecting the planet for future generations. Sustainability is not just a buzzword but a way of life. We’re committed to producing great wine while minimizing our impact on the environment. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating Earth Day and making a commitment to sustainability in your own life. Cheers to a better planet!
